Speakers Forum 2021: A Date With History...At The Hunt Club

The Gates Mills Historical Society is proud to announce that it is partnering with the Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS) to host a series of slide presentations on local history this fall, winter and spring at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club. These events are open to the general public, but require a reservation. Casual attire is appropriate.

The social hour (5:00-6:00 pm) includes a cash bar with hearty hors d'oeuvres and informative "white glove" displays featuring artifacts from both historical societies relating to the topic of the evening's speech.

Each presentation will begin at 6:00 pm and run approximately one hour. From 7:00-7:30 pm, presentations made by local authors will include a book signing for those guests who wish to purchase a copy of the book at the event.

Dates for our inaugural three-part Speakers Forum series will be forthcoming. Our speakers will be:

  • John Grabowski, PhD, the Senior Vice President of Research and Publications at the WRHS
  • Diana Tittle, well-respected local author Diana Tittle will discuss her latest book, The Severances: An American Odyssey, from Puritan Massachusetts to Ohio's Western Reserve, and Beyond and conduct a book signing afterwards.
  • Dan Rager, PhD, will discuss his book, The Maple Leaf Route; Geauga County, 1899-1925, Vol. 2, The Critical Edition.

The Gates Mills Historical Society wishes to thank The Veale Foundation for its generous financial support of our inaugural Speakers Forum season.
